At the Ukrainian American Community Center, the Family Resource and Basic Assistance Program supports newly arrived Ukrainians as they transition to life in the United States.
Our program provides comprehensive assistance, including:
✔ Employment Support – guidance on job search, interview preparation, and resume development.
✔ English Language Learning – information and referrals to ESL classes and other educational resources.
✔ Housing Assistance – support in locating safe and affordable rental options.
✔ Health Coverage Guidance – consultations on medical insurance programs and eligibility.
✔ Help With Official Correspondence – assistance completing forms and communicating with government agencies.
✔ UBNS Program Applications – support with submitting applications for financial assistance for Ukrainians facing hardship.
In addition to basic assistance, we help newcomers build meaningful connections within the community. We connect individuals with social groups, mentorship opportunities, cultural events, and educational programs.
The Center regularly hosts seminars for newcomers on essential topics such as employment, education, healthcare, transportation, taxes, and navigating everyday life in the U.S. These sessions provide both practical information and a welcoming space to form relationships, expand networks, and find support during the transition.
We also organize cultural celebrations, concerts, and workshops that help Ukrainians maintain their heritage while integrating into American society.
If you need support or would like to learn more about the services available through our Center, please contact the Refugee Team - we’re here to help.
